Give time or skills

On site, a shelter needs hands all year round: cleaning, walking, socializing fearful dogs, helping on sterilization days. If you travel to one of these countries, a few hours on site is often worth more than a donation. Let the organization know in advance — an unplanned visit disrupts more than it helps.

Remotely, certain skills are sorely lacking. Photography first: a poorly photographed dog stays in the shelter, a well-photographed dog finds a family. Many organizations publish phone photos taken in a kennel under bad lighting. A two-hour session changes their chances.
