War does not stop at humans. In every armed conflict, dogs are abandoned during evacuations, injured by bombings, trapped in shelters no one can reach anymore. And in every conflict, people stay behind for them.

An honesty first: in most war zones, there is no local dog protection organisation that can be verified from outside. The organisations listed here are those whose legal existence and activity are documented. For other areas, help goes through international organisations specialised in conflicts, which intervene when conditions allow.
What you can do from here comes down to one word: give. Adoption, fostering or volunteering are rarely possible from abroad in an active zone. Money, however, crosses borders: it pays for food, fuel for evacuations and veterinary care under the bombs.
